Dr. OLAYIWOLA Adewale Mukhtar is an academic staff of the Department of Geography, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. His area of specialization is Settlement Geography with particular focus on Urban and Regional Planning. His research focuses on Urban Studies and Urban and Regional Planning using Remote Sensing and GIS tools. Thus, his inputs into settlement studies have been attempts to assessing the spatial arrangement of settlements and the challenge of creating and maintaining sustainable urban development. He emphasizes the need to introduce planning controls in the Nigerian urban centers.
