Prof. Adeoye joined the services of the Obafemi Awolowo University as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Geography on October 4, 2004. He obtained Ph.D. Geography degree of University of Ibadan in 2007 with bias in Land Resource Analysis and Planning, Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). He has utilized Remote Sensing data and GIS technology to explain changes in Land use/cover in a part of southwestern Nigeria. He has 21 publications in books, journals and referred conference proceedings, which are all in print. He is a member of many professional bodies; among them are Association of Nigerian Geographers (ANG), African Association of Remote Sensing of the Environment (AARSE), Association of Borderland Studies (ABS). He attended many local, national and international conferences, symposia and workshops; the fora, which availed him the opportunities to broaden his knowledge in his chosen field. He successfully supervised ten M.Sc. candidates and co-supervised other ten with colleagues in the Department and outside the Department. Prof. Adeoye creditably led the Department of Geography as Acting Head, between August 1st 2015 and July 31st, 2017. He served as 2nd Nigeria Representative in the Governing Council of African Regional Institute for Geospatial Information Sciences and Technology (AFRIGIST) (formerly known as RECTAS) and member of International Screening Committee. Prof. Adeoye is an effective and astute teacher, a meticulous examiner and a competent adviser of students. He is honest, gentle, humble, innovative and highly dependable. Prof. Adeoye is a lover of God and humanity.
