Prof. ‘Sina Ayanlade graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife with a B.Sc. Degree in Geography in 2002 and M.Sc. Degree in Geographical Information System (GIS) and Remote sensing in 2008. He had his PhD in Geography-Applied Climatology from prestigious King’s College London, University of London, UK in 2013. He also had a degree Certificate in Climate Information from International Research Institute for Climate and Society, Columbia University, USA in June 2008 and a degree Certificate in, Research methods on climate change from University of Bergen, Norway, in August 2008. Prof. Ayanlade joined the service of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in February 2007, as a Graduate Assistant and rose to the rank of Senior Lecturer in October 2016. He specializes in Applied Climatology with specific research interest in land-climate processes, climate change studies, and application of Remote Sensing and GIS to land-atmospheric interactions. Over the years, he has engaged and contributed to researches in the areas of land-atmospheric interactions and environmental changes using remote sensing and GIS. He has produced three M.Sc students and supervised several undergraduate projects.

He was a Scholar of Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF); The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA); Research Fellow of Climate Impact Research Capacity and Leadership Enhancement in Sub-Saharan Africa (CIRCLE), which is an initiative of the Department for International Development (DFID) of the United Kingdom (UK) and a Visiting Research Fellow under the CGIAR Research Program on Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security (CCAFS) at International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI), Kenya. His International research training experience includes International Research Institute for Climate and Society, at the Earth Institute, Columbia University, Lamont Campus, USA; Research methods, impacts and adaptation policies, A course on research methods in climate change and health, University of Bergen, Norway; Academic research leadership training, King’s College London, University of London. He has over thirty publications both in local and international reputable journals. He is currently a Lead Author for UN- Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to Contribution to the IPCC Sixth Assessment Report (AR6) Chapter 9: Africa of the Working Group II. He is also serving as a Project Associate under Urbanization and Global Environmental Change (UGEC) core projects of International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (IHDP) https://ugec.org/people/project-associates/
