Prof. Aderemi Adediji graduated from Obafemi Awolowo University (O.A.U.), Ile-Ife, Nigeria in June 1990 with a B.Sc. Degree in Geography with Second Class Honours Upper Division (21).  Thereafter, he had his M.Sc. Degree and Ph.D in Geography from the same University in 1995 and 2003, respectively.  Prof. Adediji also had a Postgraduate Diploma in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) from the Regional Centre for Training in Aerospace Surveys (RECTAS) now AFRIGIST, O.A.U. Campus, Ile-Ife in 2007.

Prof. Adediji joined the services of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife in October, 1994 as a Graduate Assistant and rose through the ranks to the post of Professor on October 1st 2013. His area of specialization in Geography is Fluvial Geomorphology. He has several research articles including referred conference proceedings in his area of specialization published in local, national and international journals.

Prof. Adediji was a Visiting Senior Lecturer to the Department of Geography, University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Nigeria between August 2011 and July 2012. Also, he was currently offered Sabbatical Appointment as Professor in August 4th 2018 by the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) in Kaduna, Kaduna, Nigeria. He has produced several M.Sc graduates and a Ph.D graduate.  Prof. Adediji was the current Editor-in-Chief of Ife Research Publication in Geography and Faculty of Social Sciences Review Journals. He was also member of several professional organizations such as Association of Nigerian Geographers (ANG) International Association of Hydrological Sciences (IAHS) and Nigerian Association of Hydrological Sciences (NAHS)
