Prof. A. S. Aguda graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in June, 1978 with a B.Sc. (Hons) Degree in Geography. Thereafter, he had his M.Sc. Degree and PhD in Geography from the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University) in 1981 and 1985 respectively. Prof. A. S. Aguda also had a Postgraduate Diploma in Remote Sensing and GIS from the Regional Centre for Training in Aerospace Surveys (RECTAS) now AFRIGIST, O.A.U.  Campus, Ile-Ife in 1997. Prof. Aguda joined the services of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife in May, 1983 as an Assistant Lecturer and rose to the rank of a Professor on October 1, 1997. He specializes in Urban and Regional Planning with special areas of Industrialization in Regional Development, Transport and Development Issues. Prof. Aguda was a visiting Professor and Head of Department (on Sabbatical Leave) at the Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State between 2007 and 2009. He was head of his department at Obafemi Awolowo University between 2004 and 2007. Prof. Aguda has produced more than ten PhD and several M.Sc. graduates. He was editor of the faculty of Social Sciences and Departmental Journals for a number of years. He has several publications both local and international to his credit and he is a member of several professional organizations.
