Prof. Oyekanmi Babatimehin, a Medical Geographer, hails from Ponyan, Kogi State, Nigeria. Holds a Ph.D. of the University of Ibadan and a Postgraduate Diploma in Geoinformatics (RECTAS, O.A.U., Ile-Ife). He worked as Research Fellow at NISER, Ibadan, Nigeria; Visiting Lecturer to Tai Solarin University of Education, Ijagun, Nigeria, and currently a Professor, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria; where he was a member of the Coordinating Committee of the University’s Pre-Degree Programme 2007-2012; member of the University’s Accreditation Visitation Panel to the College of Education, Ikere-Ekiti in 2013; and Acting Head, Department of Geography 2013-2015. Also, he served as a member of Service Availability Mapping (SAM) Steering Committee of the Federal Ministry of Health, Nigeria in 2005 and Representative of the Nigerian Government on the Governing Council of RECTAS, 2013-2015. Prof. Babatimehin is a Laureate of CODERIA, Dakar, Senegal; content reviewer for several journals including Social Science and Medicine, Elsevier; course writer for the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN); member of several professional associations; and has several publications in reputable outlets worldwide. Prof. Babatimehin is a happy family man.
